Jazz Week at The Daffodil

The last week of April saw the return of the wonderful Cheltenham Jazz Festival to our charming city, and what a week it was!

Our exclusive schedule wowed customers (and staff!) over a series of five days and evenings as we welcomed a selection of the finest talent the UK has to offer from the live Jazz scene. The Daffodil was transformed into an intimate Jazz club with singers performed on the iconic stage in front of the open plan kitchen in the stunning former picture-house. The support act was, of course, the stunning menu created lovingly by executive chef, Tom Rains.

The house band opened and closed each night with their eclectic mix of classic and modern Jazz tunes. The house was packed and the party went on full wing late into the night!

Over the course of the week we saw stars of the Jazz world such as BBC radio host and 7-time Jazz award winner Claire Martin play on the Thursday evening. Friday we welcomed Tina May to the stage who brought her Parisian glamour and elegance to The Daffodil (as if we needed anymore!). Saturday we had a real party vibe as the venue was absolutely packed with people listening to the wonderful Natalie Williams and her smooth, acoustic style. Last but not least was our Sunday performer, Liane Carroll, who is undeniably a legend of the Jazz world.

One happy customer reviewed her night via Facebook with these kind words:

“My meal was excellent.... The kitchen staff - preparing, cooking and serving for so many guests at once with hot, beautifully presented, delicious meals was achieved to perfection. Of course I cannot forget those serving the guests with such delicious meals and drinks was done beautifully! The Jazz band was exceptionally good and especially when they accompanied the star guest, Claire Martin and her fantastic pianist! A great evening!! I will certainly look forward to returning again soon!”

We can’t wait for next year!
