Live Jazz Change
Due to serious the illness of Tony Marshall the advertised night with Roy Sainsbury and Tony Marshall has been cancelled.
 
The Daffodil is pleased to announce a great replacement night featuring a great trio of Peter Harris (Guitar/vocals) with the great Tom Hill (Bass/vocals) and Neil Bullock(Drums)
 
Peter Harris goes back to his jazz roots and will be playing the music of Wes Montgomery, George Benson and Kenny Burrell, plus many guitar standards and material from the famous "Blue Note Label." Peter is one of the UK's top session guitarist/vocalists and currently backs ALED JONES. He has also worked with such music luminaries as RONAN KEATING,GARETH GATES,DONNY OSMOND, ANDY ABRAHAM, JANE MCDONALD, JOE LONGTHORNE and THE BEE GEES

New Year Excitment

Our Head Chef Mark Davidson and his team have been working very hard during the last 2 weeks creating a delicious array of new dishes as well as keeping a few of the old favourites, such as, The Daffodil Kedgeree Fishcake with curry mayonnaise, Cassoulet of duck, pork and toulouse sausage and for all those with a sweet tooth, Dark Chocolate Mousse with baked meringue.  To view the whole menu click on the link or for further information please call reservations on 01242 700 055.

Winter Warmers

With winter’s arrival our chefs have added some really scrumptious warming new dishes to our a la carte menu: How about a creamy Jerusalem artichoke soup with truffle oil to start, followed by our locally sourced pan roasted loin of venison with bubble and squeak rosti, then finish up with a delicious steamed dark chocolate sponge with a poached pear and roasted hazelnuts. In addition to our Christmas party menu we are hosting live Jazz Dinner Dances every Wednesday throughout December comprising of Champagne Cocktails and Canapés on arrival, a three course meal followed by dancing to the wonderful sounds of JB Jazz and Blues and a Christmas goody bag for every guest to take home  - all for just £40 per head.

July - The heat is on!!!

In need of a refreshing yet sophisticated cool down then look no further then The Venus Flower cocktail which combines the crisp summer flavours of Champagne, Midori, Elderflower and Apples - what could be better as an aperitif!

The July - September  free jazz programme has just been released with new and memorable artistes including Cheltenham based vocalist Anita Walsh, the legendary violin maestro Ralph Allin, and a welcome return to world famous trumpeter and Ronnie Scott's sidesman Dick Pearce.  Please reserve your table early for any of the dates to avoid disappointment by using our online booking service to the right or call reservations on 01242 7000 055.

Just a quick reminder that Ladies Lunch is around the corner. On Tuesday 7th July The Chapel Down Spa take up residence for the day and demonstrate their new Carita Gold facial as well as showcasing their much sought after mineral make-up range.  We only have a handful of spaces remaining so to reserve your table or for further information please contact us on the number above.

Winesday this month will be on 8th July and we will be uncorking Rosé wines in the spirit of Summer. Our guest wine expert Mike Lury from Corney & Barrow wine merchants will be on hand to guide you through an informal tasting in the  relaxed setting of the Circle bar, followed by an hors d'oeuvres platter created by our chef to compliment the flavours of each vintage.

June - Serving Summer Aces!!

With the first day of Summer on the way (21st June) we have a few treats for you all. This month's menu sees some fabulous new dishes including Spaghetti alle Vongole, an italian pasta dish made with fresh clams - ideal as both a starter or a main course! For all those who love Strawberries we have our scrumptious Eton Mess - a dreamy combination of Meringue, Cream and local Strawberries, a perfect way to end a meal.

June is also the month of tennis with Wimbledon starting on 22nd June so in true Wimbledon style we will be serving Cream Teas, local Strawberries & Cream as well as wonderfully refreshing glasses of Pimms and Lemonade, so join us every afternoon and watch the action live from the luxury of our Circle Bar.

May - Spring has sprung

With the arrival of spring we are seeing some of the finest seasonal ingredients on the menu which include English Asparagus Soup with a poached duck egg (layed by Jonathon Crumps ducks and bought in fresh every day), an extremley tender spatchcock poussin and for those with a sweet tooth new season red fruit pavlova.

This month sees the start of Winesday which will take place on the first Wednesday of every month up in the circle bar. The evening is all about tasting fine wines with a different wine specialist accompanied by Hors D'oeuvres which will have been carefully designed to compliment each wine.  For further information please contact eat@thedaffodil.com

March...Blooming Marvelous!

Spring is in the air; the daffodils are up and our March menu features some tantalizing new dishes such as leek wrapped Gloucester Old Spot Terrine with rhubarb compote, Guinea Fowl & Grain Mustard Pie with sautéed purple sprouting and, for all those with a sweet tooth, a delicious marbled Trio of Chocolate Terrine.

New additions to our wine list include the delightfully elegant ‘Ana’ Sauvignon Blanc from the Breloft vineyards in New Zealand and the gutsy but smooth ‘Ruca Malen’ Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina.

March is a very busy month at The Daffodil with the Cheltenham National Hunt Festival and more importantly of course (!) our special Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday 22nd.

Finally a quick reminder that tickets are now on sale for the nationally acclaimed Cheltenham Jazz Festival taking place at the end of April. We are delighted to be hosting 4 festival dinner jazz evenings all of which are sure to be an early sell out so please follow the link to book your tickets.

Christmas at The Daffodil

With Christmas under way, our Head Chef Mark Davidson has made some beautiful dishes that will stir up all the tastes and memories of a traditional Christmas including Wild Mushroom & Chestnut Risotto, Roast Turkey with homemade Orange & Cranberry stuffing and not forgetting our very own Sticky Toffee Christmas Pudding.  If your tastebuds are sizzling and you would like to see more then please look at our menu pages.
